At its core, Salaam Foundation is about community. We support and fund grassroots projects and initiatives across four fields of impact:
- Education & Refugees
- Civics, youth, and democracy
- Conserving and promoting Islamic art and culture
- Helping the homeless
To do this, we facilitate programs such as:

The Foundation is supported and powered by our sister organisation, Superannuation.
Salaam Foundation charges 0% administrative costs, with 100% of proceeds for our initiatives. This is due in large part to the generous support of our sister organisation, Superannuation, which powers us here at the Foundation.
We believe that everyone should have access to opportunity – regardless of their race or background. As such, much of the work we do revolves around supporting refugees and asylum seekers in our communities.
No, our board and executive team are made up of a wide spectrum of cultures and our focus is on supporting and strengthening community, regardless of race or background.
Salaam Foundation is led by an experienced, diverse, and highly passionate board. Bringing with them a wealth of expertise and connection, our directors play an integral role in guiding us towards our end goal: to be a force for good.

We have two streams of funding available. Our ‘Community Projects’ initiative funds grassroots programs, and our ‘High Impact Projects’ support transformative, scalable, and sustainably funded programs designed to make an impact in four key areas:
- Education & Refugees
- Civics, youth, and democracy
- Conserving and promoting Islamic art and culture
- Helping the homeless
Initiatives outside of this core mandate may also be funded if they are seen to be unanimously and overwhelmingly deserving by the board.
No, only Australian registered entities are eligible to receive a grant.

The Salaam Awards are an annual celebration of the incredible contributions of Muslim students, schools, and educators across Australia. Awards are given to individual learners and educators, as well as teams and institutions for:
- acts of service and contribution made by Muslim students.
- excellence in teaching and leadership across classrooms, schools, and communities
- outstanding examples of design in curriculum, pedagogy, and learning environments
- advances in contemporary Australian Islamic school renewal and innovation
